Moodle FAQ – Students

How do I login to Moodle?

Go to moodle.colgate.edu and log in use the Colgate SSO Sign In to login using your Colgate username and password. If you have difficulty logging in, contact itshelp@colgate.edu.

Why don’t I see some of my courses?

There are a couple of reasons why you may not see all of your current semester courses in Moodle. Your professor may not be using Moodle for your course, or they may not have made the site visible to students yet. You also will not see a course if you are not enrolled in the course.

Courses from past semesters are not visible to students. They are hidden a month after the end of the semester (or sooner).

Why don’t I see the gradebook in my Moodle course?

Gradebook visibility is controlled by individual instructors. Some instructors choose to make the gradebook visible and others do not. If the gradebook has been made visible, you will see a ‘Grades’ tab in the navigation bar at the top of the course.

How do I access Moodle on my phone?

Use the OpenLMS mobile app to access Moodle at Colgate on your mobile device (the standard Moodle mobile app in Google Play or the App Store will not work).

You can use the mobile app to:
